Every holiday season, there’s a hot new toy every kid has on their wish list. And while that’s an easy way to please, there are so many healthy and educational gifts on the market that can enrich a child’s life. Toys that teach can be so much more fun for kids, and they don’t even have to feel like they’re learning. According to a study published in 2021, games and toys “contribute significantly to the development of cognitive, motor, psychosocial, emotional, and linguistic skills.”
Many parents are particularly concerned with their children’s screen time. Studies have found that the more time children spend in front of a television, an iPad, or a computer, the less time they spend playing with peers, indirectly increasing the likelihood of developmental delay.
