The words “best toy” mean different things to different people. For the Good Housekeeping Institute Media & Tech Lab analysts, it’s about durability, quality, and performance. For parents, it’s value for money and ease of use—no complicated instructions, no endless assembly. And for kids? It’s simple: toys should be fun to play with—and isn’t that the whole point?
This year’s Good Housekeeping Best Toy Awards winners checked all the boxes. Our team of Lab experts and parenting editors vetted every submission and got hands-on with the items, and sent toys home to over 250 families for real-world testing. We reviewed (brutally) honest feedback from kids and parents, and even invited children into the GH Institute to play with the toys in a comparative setting.

TOSY Fidget Spinner Glow
Combining two popular playthings (magnet builders and fidget toys), this set from TOSY comes with 136 strong magnets kids can arrange into different shapes to make their own fidget spinners. Or, they can use them like a Rubik’s cube or build whatever else they feel like making as a way to keep their hands busy. The pieces even glow in the dark, and a UV flashlight is included. Ages 6+
TESTER NOTES: These were a draw during our in-Lab toy testing—all the kids wandered over to give them a try. One at-home tester noted, “My child likes to build and construct, and this was great for keeping her entertained and engaged at a restaurant and on a train ride.”
